Setsubun Eindo Festival - Setsubun Oinashiki Ceremony -

A goma ceremony is held once a year in the training hall, Keiin-do. Visitors enter the hall and recite the Heart Sutra, 1,000 times, and chant the mantras of the Seven Keiin Deities enshrined in the hall, as well as Ushnishavijya and Sanbo Daikojin, to ward off evil spirits.
After the memorial service at Keiin-do, the Setsubun O-nan Ceremony is held in the main hall. Not only beans are thrown, but many offerings are also scattered, and the main hall is filled with joyful faces and voices.

At this festival, prayers for protection from evil spirits are offered and talismans are given out.

Also, as the year changes and unlucky directions change, wives are given talismans to affix to vital points in the new year.
